The Bird-men

This image was for a project in which I illustrated scenes from the book: 'The Description of a New World Called the Blazing World' written by the 'thrice noble, illustrious and excellent princess the Duchess of Newcastle c.1666'

“...she caused a Convocation first of the Bird-men, and commanded them to give her a true relation of the two Celestial bodies, viz. the Sun and Moon, which they did with all obedience and faithfulness befitting their duty.”
